TNK-BP Services Receive International Certificates for Quality, Environment and Safety

TNK-BP announced today that its drilling and well servicing enterprises had been awarded international certificates ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

The certificates testify that TNK-BP’s oil field services comply with international standards with regard to quality of operations, protection of environment and occupational safety.

In July-September 2008, the independent firm of Moody International, a leading global supplier of management system certification, technical and inspection services, and technical training, carried out two audits of TNK-BP’s service operations in the core production centres of Nizhnevartovsk (West Siberia) and Buzuluk (in Orenburg region).

TNK-BP’s oil field services (OFS) include six operating and four asset management subsidiaries servicing units;account for 10% of Russia’s drilling and well workover market; in 2005—2008, implemented a $500 mln modernization program; in 2008, OFS revenue is estimated at $700 mln. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates are accredited with the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS); OHSAS 18001 certificate is accredited with the Norwegian Centre for Accreditation and Certification (NORSK).


TNK-BP is one of the largest vertically integrated Russian oil and gas companies. In 2011, average daily oil production totaled 1.99 million barrels per day (including a 50% interest of Slavneft and Venezuela assets). TNK-BP operates five refineries (four in Russia and one in Ukraine) and nearly 1,388 branded retail outlets (including Ukraine and Belarus).
