X5 Retail Group ("Group" or "X5") is one of the leading food retailers in Russia. X5 shares are listed on London Stock Exchange (LSE) in the form of Global Depositary Receipts.
X5 Retail Group operates several retail formats, including the chain of conveniently located proximity stores under the Pyaterochka brand, the supermarket chain under the Perekrestok brand and the hypermarket chain under the Karusel brand.
The Group's Revenue reached RUR 808,818 mln (US $13,268 mln) in 2015. Total net selling space exceeded 3.7 mln m2 as of 30 June 2016. In 2015, over 2.4 billion people shopped at the Group's stores. More than 147 thousand people work at the Group. As of 30 June 2016, the total number of the Group's stores was 7,936.
Pyaterochka, a chain of conveniently located proximity stores, is one of Russia’s leading retail brands.
Pyaterochka stores are focused on easy and economical shopping, located primarily in residential areas and close to shopper’s homes, where customers can always find quality goods at reasonable prices. The stores’ range consists on average of approximately 4,000 SKUs, with an average net selling space of approximately 387 square meters. In 2015, Pyaterochka stores reported net retail sales accounting for 73% of X5’s total net retail sales. As of 30 June 2016, 7,164 stores operated under the Pyaterochka brand.
Perekrestok is the leading national supermarket chain in Russia.
Perekrestok strives to be the customer’s first choice for fresh products supported by the right complementary assortment and pricing strategy. The stores offer an assortment of 10,000 to15,000 SKUs with net selling space ranging from 800 to 1,600 square meters. In 2015, Perekrestok stores reported net retail sales accounting for 16% of X5 total net retail sales. As of 30 June 2016, 493 stores operated under the Perekrestok brand.
Karusel is one of the largest hypermarket chains currently operating on the Russian market.
Karusel stores offer customers convenient one-stop shopping at fair prices in city locations with a wide range of quality food and non-food products, efficient service at cash registers, engaging weekly catalogues and a loyalty program.The stores target an average net selling space of 4,335 square meters and carry an average of between 15,000 and 23,000 SKUs. In 2015, Karusel stores reported net retail sales accounting for 10% of X5’s total net retail sales. As of 30 June 2016, 89 stores operated under the Karusel brand.
