Alfa Bank rated highest in corporate reputation among all Russian banks
09 Mar 2004

The report notes "Alfa Bank's excellent reputation is directly related to how it was able to pull itself through the 1998 crisis, [and] how it regulated debt. Using Western standards and having foreign shareholders and foreign specialists with Russian experience are also crucial."

Alfa Bank Chairman Mikhail Fridman commented, "The management and employees of Alfa Bank consider our reputation as an open and honest bank to be our greatest strength. We have worked hard for many years to earn this reputation, and we are grateful that the Expert Study Group has recognized this effort. We will continue to progress in this area and we intend to be a leader on issues of corporate reputation and governance in the Russian banking system."

The Expert Study was conducted by a team of recognized economists and social scientists and focuses on "corporate reputation as perceived by investors, creditors, and business partners."
