X5 Retail Group N.V. Leads "Best Retail Chain - 2007"

Moscow, February 7, 2008 – X5 Retail Group N.V., Russia’s largest food retail company by sales volume, took first place in the “Best Retail Chain 2007” ratings in the Sales Leaders section of the Federal Leaders of Food Retail category.
Upon receiving the award, Managing Director of Corporate Relations Yuri Kobaldze said, “We’re glad to see that the results of X5’s work in 2007 are appreciated. Our commitment and drive to strengthen our leading position serves as an indicator of the successful realization of the company’s plans.”
The “Best Retail Chain 2007” ratings are a joint project of BBPG and RBK. The ratings’ intent is to determine federal and regional leaders in sales, general productivity and the productivity of new stores.
The ratings are compiled by BBPG and RBK based on data provided by the directors of commercial organizations.
The results of the rating are traditionally announced at the Food Director convention, which is organized by BBPG.
