Alexander Gafin, a member of the Alfa-Bank’s Board of Directors, spoke at the Conference “Communication strategies for financial sectors in Russia and the CIS countries”

Alexander Gafin, a member of the Board of Directors at Alfa-Bank, took part in the international conference “Communication strategies for financial sectors in Russia and the CIS countries” held in London on 3-4 October, 2005.

The issues of corporate social responsibility, financial, crisis, consumer and intra-corporate communications, relationships with the mass media, branding, advertisement and PR were under discussion at the Conference.

Alexander Gafin delivered the report “Alfa-Bank’s social and philanthropic initiatives as part of a long-term corporate strategy”.

“The system of internal corporate social responsibility is still developing in Russia, and the society expects more systematic work on the part of business for social peace and prosperity, — noted Alexander Gafin. “Alfa-Bank’s social programs are focused primarily the areas of the arts, emergency medical care, and the needs of children. In addition, we actively encourage and support the charitable activities of individuals — our partners, employees, members of the families of our employees — as many as possible.”

Attending the Conference were the heads of major Russian and international consulting and advertising agencies, financial companies, including the Savings Bank of Russia, ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank, Raiffeisen Zentralbank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, BBDO, PBN Company.
