Alfa Bank Express Receives National “Brand of the Year” Award in Russia

Alfa Bank, Russia's largest private bank, has been honored with a Gold Award for its notable results in aggressive PR and Branding campaign in 2003. This is Alfa Bank's second consecutive "Brand of the Year Award."
The results of the campaign to launch the new retail network of Alfa Bank show that the target audience has a positive attitude to the appearance of Alfa Bank Express and is interested in the Bank's services and products. This is also proved by dynamic growth in the Bank's retail client base.
The Jury - with input from Russian experts in marketing and advertising - selected the best companies on a variety of criteria, both objective and subjective, applied internationally with regard to effective marketing strategies, brand-building activities and promotional campaigns.
The new Alfa Bank's retail business, operating under the Alfa Bank Express brand, was launched in April 2003 and now provides state-of-the-art retail services for private individual and SME customers.
Results so far show that Alfa Bank Retail business has been one of the driving sectors in 2003.
"Alfa Bank was first in the Russian retail banking market to build the brand on the basis of positive emotions, disclosure and kindness. Alfa Bank Express is the first 'living' brand. We are proud that we have created a new image of the Bank as an open institution with inviting and understandable services.
We hope that potential retail customers will come to equate the words 'Alfa Express' with good banking", says Maceij Lebkowski, Member of the Board of Directors, Director of Alfa Bank Retail Business.
According to Mr. Lebkowski, "Alfa Bank Express is also a vitally important project for Alfa Bank. Now, after a successful launching in Moscow, we will develop it in other parts of the country".
"Brand of the year" is an annual award recognizing only the most successful projects in brand-building and promoting activities on the Russian market. In 2001, the Russian national award in marketing and advertising "Brand of the Year" was included into the international IFFIE system being the most authoritative award in the world in the field. Introduced in 1968 by the American Marketing Association, the EFFIE Competition is being conducted in 19 countries.
