TNK-BP – First in the Forbes Rating
29 Sep 2005

TNK-BP was named the best company of 2004 in the rating of the Forbes magazine published in the October issue. For the second time, TNK-BP came out the first in this prestigious rating.

The Forbes rating covers the companies whose stocks are not available for third party investors and do not circulate in stock markets. Only the open joint-stock companies owned by no more than 10 owners took part in the rating. The companies were ranked according to their income in 2004.

Estimates of the income in 2003 and 2004 were based on the information officially presented to Forbes by the nominated companies and the information provided by the Federal Financial Regulation Service, the Federal State Statistics Service, and Federal Tax Service to the System of Professional Analysis of Markets and Companies (SPARC) of the Interfax agency.

The data of the groups of companies that did not present their consolidated statements were summed up. Information on certain companies was compared with the data on their foreign economic activities and estimates of analysts in different market sectors.

The income figures were rounded off to the nearest ten million dollars and the headcount figures to the nearest hundred.
