TNK-BP Has Been Named “Company of the Year – 2007” 29 Oct 2007
TNK-BP has been named “Company of the Year – 2007” as part of the annual competition organized by the business weekly Kompaniya. TNK-BP received the top award in the category “Fuel and Energy Complex” for the successful implementation of its large-scale associated gas program.
About the competition: the competition “Company of the Year” has been held for eight years in succession and in Russian business circles is deservedly known as “Business Results of the Year”. Participating companies are not entered into the competition, but are instead assessed by experts throughout the calendar year on the strength of objective data on their operation. On this basis the competition nominations change annually according to the step-by-step development of the Russian economy. The jury is made up of businessmen, heads of large business structures, representatives of economic, scientific and analytic centres, and public figures. Since its inception, the “Company of the Year” competition has become a prestigious expert platform upon which the development trends and directions of Russian business and their leaders are determined.
At the official awards ceremony, held in Moscow on 18 October, the “Company of the Year – 2007” diploma was accepted from the organizers by TNK-BP Vice President Vladimir Ruga.
This is the latest in a succession of awards that TNK-BP has won at the “Company of the Year” competition. Of particular note is the Company’s 2006 win in the category for growth of operational indicators and significant social investments.

TNK-BP is a major, vertically integrated Russian oil and gas company. In 2007, average daily oil production totaled 1.6 million barrels per day (excluding a 50% interest of Slavneft). TNK-BP operates five refineries (four in Russia and one in Ukraine) and nearly 1,600 branded retail outlets across both countries.
