Lev Khasis Named “Person of the Year 2009”

Moscow, 26 February 2010 - X5 Retail Group N.V., Russia's largest retailer in terms of revenue (LSE ticker: “FIVE”), announced today that the Company’s CEO Lev Khasis has been awarded the prestigious international “Person of the Year 2009” award by publishing house RosBusinessConsulting Group (RBC). Lev Khasis received RBC’s Grand-Prix “for promoting the interests of the strategically important retail sector of the Russian economy and for personal contributions to the development of a modern consumer market".

The international “Person of the Year” award has been founded by RBC in 2001. It is granted to people who have made outstanding contributions to Russian business, civil society, political and cultural life, and who have made significant achievements during the year. Over the past eight years, the award gained widespread recognition in Russian society. Since 2004 “Person of the Year” Grand-Prix recipients have been awarded Glory of Motherland decoration founded by RBC.
