X5 Retail Group N.V. Leads TOP 200 Rating
25 Sep 2007

Moscow, September 25, 2007 – X5 Retail Group N.V., the largest Russian food retailer by sales volume, took first place in the TOP 200 Russian Retail ratings in the Largest Food Retail Chain category.

On accepting the award, X5 Retail Group’s Managing Director of Corporate Relations, Yuri Kobaladze said, “X5 has earned this victory. Our company leads not only in sales volume, but in many other indicators, and we are determined to maintain our leading position.”

The TOP 200 Russian Retail ratings rate the 200 leading retail companies in Russia’s Central, Northwestern, Urals-Siberian, and Southern regions.

The ratings are compiled by the NT Agency, the informational center of the National Trade Association. The results are based on data provided by directors of retail organizations. The agency reviews information from over 12,000 retail organizations during the process of assembling the ratings.

The ratings’ results are traditionally announced at the Trade in Russia conference, which is organized by the National Trade Association and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of the Moscow International Business Association, the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of the RF, and the Government of Moscow.

The ratings for retail organizations were first introduced in 1997. Currently, the TOP 200 Russian Retail ratings are the only nationwide project that rates the activities of Russia’s largest retail organizations and the development dynamics of the entire sector.
