TNK-BP Donated Modern Diagnostic Equipment to Medical Sanitary Station No. 5
24 Aug 2005

On August 19, TNK-BP presented a new-generation diagnostic equipment – modern ultrasound scanner – to Medical Sanitary Station No. 5, which provides medical service for more than 10 thousand children and 40 thousand adults. This is only a third high-class ultrasound scanner in the republic that is capable of making precise diagnoses and seeing the structure of internal parts in the body. The scanner is furnished with a color display showing two- and three-dimensional images of internal organs and a 128-frame video memory for printing and emailing the images. According to expert estimates, the main advantage of this ultrasound scanner is that it performs very well for the early diagnosis of cardio-vascular diseases and oncology. The scanner may also be used for studying brain blood vessels. A correct diagnosis is the starting point of successful treatment. Doctors of Medical Sanitary Station No. 5 could only dream about a precise and expensive diagnostic equipment like this (costing about 2 million rubles). TNK-BP has translated these dreams into real life.

For many years now, TNK-BP is supporting the public health service in Udmurtia. The funds allocated by TNK-BP to the Rodnikovyj Krai (Land of Springs) charitable trust are used for purchasing modern medical equipment and vehicles for the medical treatment facilities of the cities and districts of our republic. Renal dialyzers (artificial kidney machines) were recently purchased for the new hemodialysis (renal dialysis) department of the medical sanitary station of IzhMash. Every day, 17 ambulances with the TNK-BP logo on them help people in different populated areas of the region. Patients of the republican diagnostic center have long appreciated another present of TNK-BP - a mobile echo encephalograph, which is a must for precisely diagnosing a broad spectrum of brain diseases. Doctors use this diagnostic apparatus even in remote districts of Udmurtia. This list TNK-BP donations is far from being complete. Only in 2004, TNK-BP allocated more than 7 million rubles for upgrading medical treatment facilities and purchasing new medical equipment.

The cooperation of health professionals and oilmen for improving the health of the population goes on. The budget of the program for supporting the public health service in Udmurtia within the framework of agreement for long-term cooperation between TNK-BP and the regional administration have reached 10 million rubles in 2005. The new ultrasound scanner was purchased for Medical Sanitary Station No. 5 within this program.

Presenting the new equipment to the medical sanitary station, Aleksandr Zelenin, Director of TNK-BP Udmurtia, expressed his hope that this high-precision
