Viktor Bashkirov appointed Director of Retail Banking at Alfa Bank

Viktor Bashkirov, a former head of Citibank's retail division in Russia, was appointed Director of retail banking at Alfa Bank.

Bashkirov will be responsible for the Bank's retail business in Moscow and regions and development of Alfa Bank Express.

Petr Smida, CEO of Alfa Bank, noted: "Victor Bashkirov represents very powerful combination of Russian and world top level experience in retail banking. I am very pleased by the fact that he decided to join our team and make us even stronger in our commitment to leadership in Russian retail banking".

Bashkirov joined Alfa Bank from Citibank where he served in Egypt Branch as Country Consumer Business Manager in charge of Citibank Egypt consumer operations. He began his career in banking at Citibank in 1993 and held senior positions in Moscow, St. Peterburg and recently in Egypt focused on retail and corporate banking as well.

Bashkirov holds a diploma in foreign economics from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University). He was born in Moscow in 1971.
