Golden Telecom Announced to Be the Best National Partner of Nortel Networks 02 Apr 2003
On February 3 - 4, 2003, Nortel Networks, one of the largest world's manufacturers of
telecommunications equipment, held a partner conference - Partners Forum 2003 - in Barcelona,
Spain at which awards were presented to Nortel Networks' best national partners.
Nominations were made in several categories, depending on the region and the business of
the partner companies. Golden Telecom was declared the winner in the category "Best National
Partner."
Golden Telecom has been cooperating with Nortel Networks practically from Golden
Telecom's incorporation. Golden Telecom's network is based primarily on a DMS300
international switch, two DMS100 local and long-distance switches and over 500 PBXs of the
Meridian-1 series produced by Nortel Networks. The equipment of Nortel Networks was used
for the construction of Golden Telecom's transport network and its Call Center, the largest
commercial Call Center in Russia. Telephone exchanges manufactured by Nortel Networks are
very popular among the customers of Golden Telecom, both in Moscow and in the regions.
Kevin Cuffe, Vice-President of Golden Telecom and Head of the Business and Consumer

more than ten years. Today, Golden Telecom uses the latest designs and solutions offered by
Nortel Networks and is often the first of the companies operating in Russia to adopt the latest
