Mikhail Fridman, Chairman Alfa Group speaks on Perceptions of Russian Business at the Russian & CIS Oil & Gas Investment Forum in Moscow
02 Dec 2004

Addressing this issue, Mikhail Fridman noted, "There is no doubt that direct foreign investment will continue to play a pivotal role in the development of Russia's gas and oil industry. Everywhere in the Russian economy we find the positive effects of foreign investment. BP made a major commitment to the growth of TNK-BP during last 15 months, and we have benefited greatly from their contributions to our productivity and corporate culture. We are immensely proud of our partnership with BP that offers great promise for the future and we are pleased to have been the industry leader in this area. I believe that we will see further productive Western investment throughout the Russian energy sector in the coming months and years."

Alfa Bank took a lead role in this Investment Forum alongside a panel of government & industry experts from leading operators in the region who examined in depth the issues at the forefront of the oil and gas industry.

The conference is part of the Energy Exchange Ltd's series of Russian & CIS focused conferences. Key topics for discussion included an overview of the Russian governments agenda for further economic reform and development of investment strategies, an examination of priorities for both domestic & international operators in the region and sources of finance available for oil and gas projects in the region.
