Alfa Group Ranked First In 100 Leading Companies Rating.
18 Mar 2002

The Alfa Group consortium ranked first in the "Cast: 100 leading companies" rating, according to assessment of the Expert council of the Economic Strategies Institute and the Economic Strategies journal. The consortium received the rating's highest AAA status and the maximal overall strategically level of 90.0, the Alfa Bank's press center reports. While choosing the winner, this rating paid special attention to dynamics of the company's development and increase in productivity, tax payment, creation of workplaces, strengthening competitiveness on the foreign and the domestic markets, accomplishment of socially relevant projects, and the reputation of the company. The Alfa Group has been the rating's leader for a two years already. Explaining their choice, the experts pointed out Alfa-Bank, the group's basis, took the line for providing clients with a maximal number of financial services at one place and simplifying procedures at the expense of IT introduction and development of the branch network. They particularly note Alfa-Bank did not only preserve its clients during the crisis 1998, but also considerably enhanced their number: more than 7,000 corporate clients moved to Alfa-Bank exactly after the crisis. Another company of the group, AlfaInsurance, ranked third in the rating of Russia's 50 leading insurance companies and received the rating's highest AAA status. Copyright 2002 RIA OREANDA.
