New Quality Control Laboratory System Operates in the Lisichansk Refinery
16 Jan 2004

The Lisichansk refinery was the first in Ukraine to embark on operations with the automated product quality control system from Creon LAB Control. The peculiarities of the system consist in its being able to automatically process data and findings yielded by laboratory testing of raw materials and finished goods. The system also verifies whether the analysis was performed correctly, compares information values and issues the quality passport, if passport products are tested. Creon LAB Control is used as network source and everybody having access to it and to review of test findings are able to promptly obtain required information on quality of petroleum products. According to Elena Makusheva, the central laboratory head at the refinery, the advantages of this new control system are vast data base on analyses'' findings, possibility of comparing product quality during different periods of time. Another critical function is monitoring of possible deviations from quality of raw materials or supplements. By the end of 2004, X-control (automatic data take-off from analyzers) and T-control (current quality control) will be implemented at the Lisichansk refinery. Creon LAB Control was launched in the commodity, control, and water & chemical laboratories of the refinery. Employees operating some production units also have the opportunity of using the system. Creon LAB Control system is expected to fully cover all laboratories and units of the enterprise, which will enhance efficiency of the production process, by the end of 2004.
