New TNK-BP Board Director Appointed

TNK-BP today announced the appointment of Robert A. Sheppard to its Board of Directors. The appointment is effective from 1 November 2005.
Mr. Sheppard was nominated by BP and replaces Mr. Brian Gilvary whose portfolio of responsibilities at BP is no longer connected with Russian activities.
Mr. Sheppard is a senior oil executive with considerable experience of working in Russia, having served as Chief Operating Officer and subsequently as President of the major Russian oil company, Sidanco between March 2000 and September 2003. Sidanco is now one of the TNK-BP group of companies.
Mr. Sheppard previously enjoyed a long and successful international career with BP including periods as President of BP’s activities in Egypt; in Argentina and as Managing Director of the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company.
Mr. Sheppard has a degree in Physics from the University of Wyoming and an Executive MBA from Columbia School of Business. He is married with three children.
