TNK-BP shall invest 30 million dollars in the modernization of Lisichansky refinery in 2004 11 Nov 2003
For 4 days a group of TNK-BP experts with Tony Considine, Executive Vice-President, Downstream, at the head, worked in the Ukraine. At the final briefing on November 6 Tony Considine announced that TNK-BP had plans to invest about 30 million dollars into Lisichansky refinery in 2004. According to him, half of this sum shall be used to construct bitumen and izomerization facilities. Another 15 million shall be used to upgrade the refinery's equipment and increase it's efficiency. TNK-BP is also planning to expand its presence on the Ukrainian retail market of oil products by investing 53 million dollars into the construction and purchase of own gas stations in 2004. "I'm absolutely sure that we shall spend this money here", - Tony Considine was quoted as saying. According to him, the company is going to focus its efforts on the improvement of quality of the already existing marketing network. Together with its partners TNK-BP intends to build about 100 gas stations in different regions of the Ukraine. As a whole, the company is going to increase the number of own gas stations to 370 by buying shares in the networks that are already present on the market. At the same time the number of the company's own oil storage depots shall be increased to 12 by the end of 2004.
