Johann Jonañh Appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa-Bank Russia

An extraordinary General Meeting of  Shareholders and of the Board of Directors of  Open Joint Stock Company Alfa-Bank Russia appointed Johann Jonach as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa-Bank Russia. In this function Mr. Jonach will preside over the activity of the Board of Directors and will, among others, be responsible for working out and implementing Alfa-Banks’s strategy on the Russian and international financial markets.

Mr. Jonach will combine his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa-Bank Russia with the function of Chief Executive Officer of Alfa Banking Group. Alfa Banking Group consolidates its five banks in Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan and in Belarus.

Mr. Jonach’s appointment into this dual role underlines Alfa-Banks strong commitment to further intensify its activity in all its existing business lines as well as its intention to closer coordinate and develop the Banking Group’s subsidiaries outside Russia.

The former Chairman of Alfa Bank Russia’s Board of Directors, Peter Smida, will stay on as Member of the Board of Directors.
