MegaFon Reports First Half Year ’07 Results 01 Oct 2007
01.10.2007, Moscow, Russia. MegaFon’s net income, calculated upon US GAAP, for the first half year ‘07 increased by 64% up to RUR 14.391 million. In the first half year ‘06 net income was RUR 8.794 million. Company’s YOY revenue increased by 48%, up to RUR 63.605 million, from RUR 42.881 million. Within the reporting period EBITDA increased by 49% up to RUR 32.310 million. In the first half year ‘06 it was RUR 21.723 million.
During Q2 ‘07 company’s YOY net income increased by 63% up to RUR 8.254 million. Within the reporting period revenue increased by 48% and amounted RUR 34.267 million. EBITDA increased by 49% and amounted RUR 18.03 million.
Q2 ARPU is 14 USD that is at the level of ’03 year end, MoU is 239 minutes. And, traffic volume improvement is achieved without any reduction of APPM.
Crucial task of MegaFon in terms of market saturation is to increase loyalty of subscribers, increase of average useful life of subscribers. In 2007 as well as in 2006 MegaFon achieved increase of market share both in subscribers and, what is more important, in revenue. Despite the fact that MegaFon’s share in total subscriber base is 20%, in terms of total revenue the company almost reached parity with its Big 3 peers MTS and VimpelCom.
